It’s the dead of winter, but you can be sure that your Board hasn’t been hibernating, waiting for Spring, as much as I’d like to! Instead, we’ve been busy planning for the upcoming year. In December, we met our goal of delivering a balanced budget for 2011.
Rest assured that we didn’t do it by paring back our offerings. We did it by cutting administrative costs and by being aggressive with our revenue forecasts. We’ve reached the 500-member mark, and we want to be sure that we continue growing. We have a great slate of programs to offer in 2011, including a Professional Day in both the Spring and the Fall. We’ll be continuing our PMP Prep classes and regular meetings. We’ll be looking for ways to create more value for our members, and to reach out to build relationships with various organizations in the community. Simultaneously, we’ve got several projects underway in the background to make our administrative processes stronger as we grow. It promises to be a busy year.
We’ve done our part, and we’d like you to commit to help us. Yes, you can volunteer, because we always have openings for volunteers, regardless of your background or availability. If you can’t volunteer, you can still help us! Promote your Chapter. Mention our events to your co-workers. Thank your manager for reimbursing the cost of membership. Tell him or her what you get out of being a member. Invite your manager to our next event. Remember, we have group rates to most events. If you don’t see one, ask. Are you a PMP? Hang your certification on the wall in your cube or office.
We put together programs for one reason - to serve you. We want you to be proud that you belong to such a dynamic organization. Help us get the word out, and 600 members will be an easy target.
