Chapter Function Marketing & Communications
Reports To Marketing & Communication Team Directors, depending on task and project
Job Description Responsibilities can vary depending on specific volunteer focus or specific task or project being worked on. Overall responsibility is to support chapter marketing and communication efforts.
Skills Requirement Skill requirements can vary by team member:
Social media experience & access (FaceBook, Linked In, Twitter, FourSquare)
Computer skills – PowerPoint, Word, Google Docs, Internet, E-mail
Communication skills
Position Duration and Effort Expectations Ongoing – 3 month minimum
2 – 10 hours a month
Position Deliverables Specific duties of the position can include (specific responsibilities can vary by team member):
  • Assist in distributing approved content via email
  • Assist in distributing approved content and ad-hoc content via social networking channels  in accordance with Chapter’s Social Media Guidelines
  • Assist in information gathering efforts for presentations, newsletter, website
  • Assist Web Admin in reviewing information on PMI Buffalo website homepage to ensure relevance, timeliness, accuracy of postings, solicit information and/or update as needed
  • Assist in the creation of PowerPoint presentations for Professional Development events
  • Assist in the creation of PMI Buffalo newsletter, including gathering information, layout, edit and proofreading
  • Responsible for marketing and publicizing the PMI Buffalo organization to the community and globally, and for brand management.
  • Assist in creation of PMI Buffalo promotional material
  • Assist in Branding strategy and Marketing plan development
  • Assist in distribution of marketing content to non-member stakeholders: prospects, professional organizations, local employers, C-level Management at local employers, local universities/colleges, other chapters, Region 4, PMI Global
  • Assist in other Member Communications tasks and special projects as needed
  • Adhere to Chapter’s Branding strategy and Communication guidelines
