President's Message - February, 2013
A Message from PMI Buffalo Chapter President Mark Kwandrans
I’m watching the Superbowl, enjoying the commercials, and I hope you’re enjoying the power outages at the Superdome and the sound outage on CBS. It just goes to show you that despite the best planning, some things can’t be controlled. It makes me wonder if they considered these things during their risk assessment.
2013 has gotten off to a good start in the Chapter. Responses to past surveys said we needed to hold events in the Southern Tier, so we arranged for dinner and a tour at Holiday Valley. Attendees at our January dinner said it was a great outing and was very enjoyable as well as informative. We also started two sessions of our PMP Prep training in January, provided that needed training for many new attendees.
The events keep coming in February. Our Toolbelt series has kicked off with a basic and an advanced class. Our February dinner saw finalists from our Project of the Year Award telling us what it takes to plan and execute high-quality projects. The tempo doesn’t let up as March brings our Spring PDD and a dinner meeting.
The year will continue to bring high-quality training sessions and we hope you’ll be able to join us for some.
As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to write me at president@pmibuffalo.org
