2025 Volunteer Appreciation Event
The Human Side of Change – Turning Commitment into Collective Impact
From Personal Commitment to Lasting Change
Meaningful change does not come from plans alone, it comes from turning individual commitment into lasting change. We’ll explore the social impact of volunteering and how personal commitment becomes shared momentum through trust, alignment, and human connection. This talk highlights the human dynamics that lead to sustained change, and how shared purpose can transform individual effort into social impact.

Park Comprehensive Cancer Center
Founder, Live Each Day, LLC
Melissa Therrien is an executive leader in healthcare, a founder, and a personal and executive coach with two and a half decades of experience leading organizational and human change. In her early 20s, she served as a CFO, where she led a financial turnaround – an experience that shaped her understanding of change under pressure, and the crucial human elements of change.
She later spent over 20 years in senior executive leadership roles in healthcare, overseeing strategy, operations, and workforce development. She’s designed, developed, and launched a leadership development program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, and is preparing to implement a strategic change management strategy at the organization.
Melissa is also the Founder of Live Each Day, a business she’s building to support women who want to reinvent their life and work. In this capacity, Melissa coaches professional women through personal, professional, and identity-level change. Her work bridges the technical side of change – strategy, systems, and execution – with the human side – commitment, motivation, and life purpose.
She brings a rare perspective shaped by leading change at scale within organizations, while coaching individuals through the internal shifts that make lasting change possible, both within themselves and the organizations they lead.
