Climate Change and its associated human and economic impact
Climate Reality Leader Jackie May will present the current business problem (Climate Change and its associated human and economic impact) as well as to lay the foundation for the current and potential solutions that can be deployed to address it. Many of the presentation materials are part of the standard Climate Reality Project slide deck (parts of which you may have seen in last year’s “an Inconvenient Sequel”). In addition to these slides which give an overview of the problem, its impacts and potential solutions there will also be slides to address what we can do now. There are clearly actions individuals can take, but there are also projects that need to be launched to address change on a broader scale. This is the side of projects that most PMs don’t get involved with – project initiation, justification and design. Please plan on attending this session and come prepared for a lively Q&A session at the end.
Jackie May is a retired Project Manager with over 30 years of Information Technology and Financial Services experience. As with many professionals who enter retirement, Jackie looked for ways to use her time and energy to benefit others. To this end, Jackie has received training and volunteers for the Red Cross Disaster Relief team and has worked hurricanes Matthew and Irma. In addition, she attended the fall 2017 Climate Reality Project training session in Pittsburgh and is now a Climate Reality Leader. These two roles allow her to actively work to address Climate change as well as help those impacted by it.
