In previous discussions on this topic, our focus was mainly methodology direction, with some notes regarding the impact of certain technological innovations – let’s revisit and deepen this aspect.
We have previously discussed automation projects, and how automation might impact our work. Things like time tracking/reporting and financial and budgeting systems are readily available; what will be the next great innovation? Are there parts of our work that could and/or should be handled using AI? Perhaps a system that produces draft meeting minutes, or can formalize requirements or write user stories?
As we’ve touched on before, there is a two way influence between methodology and such trends – what aspects of our methodologies can be improved/enhanced by such innovations? There’s already quite a bit of technological support for various Agile methods – is there anything which would support projects that still follow waterfall? Or will waterfall go the way of the cassette tape – genius at its outset, usurped in a relatively short period of time by newer and better technology?
During this meeting, we will discuss our collective experience and challenges on this topic, as well as available suggestions and information on the way that our industry should be approaching these and other questions.
